The school, which was designed by George Diamantopoulos, was founded and built in 1927 on the island of Spetses, in Greece to “train future Greek leaders”. It had the financial support of Sotirios Anargyros & Marinos Korgialeneios.
The complex included five main buildings, extensive sports facilities, the theatre, the Poseidonio Hotel (then probably the most elegant in the Balkans) and the Anargyros residence, all fine examples of turn- of -the- century classical architecture.
The school opened on October 1st, 1927 with four students, under the directorship of an Englishman named Eric Sloman.
The first students were:
- Dimitrios Ktenas
- Konstantinos Mpolas
- Evagelos Savvopoulos
- Georgios Stalios
During these 56 years hundred’s of students graduated and now leave and work in various countries.
If any of you graduated or attended the school at any time just register and make your self known to the others.
Any articles, fotos or small stories about yourself, your class mates or the life in the school would be welcome.
